Hello potential future victims

I’m just teasing, though it does strike me as funny how you runners carry on your friendly conversations here, knowing what we are.

Miss Wolf has given me the opportunity to properly introduce myself,
so I will.

My name is Carmine. I don’t have a deep reason for picking that name; I’m just fond of the color.

I’m 32 years old, which, I believe, makes me the oldest in this group.

I’ve been working for the Tall One for years. I joined him when I was a young teen. He killed my family and would have done the same to me if I hadn’t. I can still remember the look on my mother’s face as she died.

Since then I have worked my ass off to grow stronger and survive. Over the years, I’ve worked both on my own and with several different proxy groups. I like working with my hands but when that fails, I’ve got my pistol

What else can I tell you?
Oh yes, I lived in Alberta before I was sent to work for Miss Wolf. Now I'm set up on this island and I’m trying to familiarize myself with the place but it’s a little difficult. The air is so humid, it’s stifling. I feel like I’m swimming. At least the people here are nice. They are so trusting and kind despite the poverty. It’s like a whole other world.
I suppose that's enough for now

  1. Aaand another one is introduced. May I just say that it is a "pleasure" to "meet" you.

I sincerely hope I don't grow to hate you. You seem...okay.

    1. The pleasure is all mine, love.

    2. Not all of them. A few, but not all.

And also...I hate pet names. Just telling you that now.

      Call me Rose. Please.

    3. I didn't mean any offense, Rose

  2. Well hello Carmine, my name is Sanna, which I didn't pick or anything, it's short for Alexandria. And I am sixteen, which would make me half your age, a little trivia there.

Do you harbour any resentment to your Owner after what he did to your family?

    Also, what's Alberta like?

    1. Wow you’re so young; just barely a woman

I suppose “Owner” is as good a term as any for Mr. Tall. I like that you respect him enough to capitalize that. If I’m going to be perfectly honest, yes, in my darker moments, I do feel some resentment. I think anyone in my shoes would. I’m still loyal to him, if that’s what you’re getting at. He gave me the chance to survive and has done so much for me- and I’ve done too much myself- to turn back now

Oh how can I sum up Alberta? Well I’ve heard some people compare it to Texas because of the oil, the conservative political climate and the romanticized idea of the wild west and the cowboy. I really don’t think that does it justice. I loved it there, especially in Calgary, my home city. It’s big to the point that anonymity isn’t hard to achieve, which is useful. There’s a lot of wealth and a lot of good people too, despite what the stereotypes would tell you. There are plenty of different cultures represented there, as opposed to just the cowboy thing. As a matter of fact, most of us laughed at the ones who adhered to that stereotype outside of stampede season. In terms of layout, it’s flat and dry and organized and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss it.

    2. You would be the first to refer to me as a woman, I mostly get "little girl", so really, that's refreshing.

"Owner", I use it because I think it treats its servants like dogs, 'respect' would be a funny term for how I feel about it, perhaps the wrong connotations, but I guess it'll do.

Aah, Calgary! That reminds me of my late brother and I, we're British but at one point we got into following ice hockey. He chose to support Vancouver (Canucks), I chose Calgary (Flames), now either city's name evokes memories of getting up at two in the morning to try and stream the game live over the internet. Cups of tea and making fun of each other's preferred team. Thanks for that. Good times.

  3. Huh. With a name like Carmine I'm surprised you didn't go for red text.

Nice to meet you. I suppose proxy runner chatting's due to politeness fu.

    1. Well it maybe my name and I may like the color, but that doesn't mean that I need to make a whole gimmick out of it. Besides, I noticed that Miss Wolf has used red text in several entries in this blog, so I'd hate to steal her thunder.

Nice to meet you as well.

  4. Well hello~
You seem fairly okay, though, if you don't mind, I'm not going to trust you. Ever.

I'm Ashley, though you can call me Ash. Or Spyre. Or.... eh, I don't care.

    Nice to meet you.
