Figured I'd share the interesting dream that I had last
night:
I was standing in the middle of nowhere, a grey field with a
few trees in the distance. Suddenly, my skin started to move and tear all over,
the bleeding providing a stark contrast to the grey grass beneath my feet.
Within each of the forming wounds I could see sharp teeth, as if the torn skin
was forming a mouth. All I could feel was hunger and pain as the teeth pushed
through my flesh, revealing the mouths of wolves
I rather
liked that dream...
Also, I
saw the new Paranormal Activity movie this evening because I’m a masochist and
I don’t get enough of this kind of thing in my everyday life hahaha
Thought
it was good –not as good as the first two of course, but still good. Best use
of a Teddy Ruxpin doll and a Lite Brite that I’ve seen
Oh don't spoil it for me, I miss the fear sometimes, and a good horror movie is hard to come by (whoever thought more blood = scary needs to be stalked by Him and untimantely be killed in a very clean manner.) The dream sounds intresting, though, do you think it was sent to you, or purely your creation?

Don't worry, I won't say anything more about the movie except that I haven't given away anything major. I agree that gore does not a good horror film make. While it can be used effectively (as Dario Argento has shown), extra splatter isn't enough to carry a movie by itself.
ReplyDeleteAs for the dream, I don't know... While I liked it, it still felt... weird. Like the dreams I had back in August but less intense. If it was sent, I wonder at the intent.
I highly doubt our tall aquantince is the only Fear capable of that talent, maybe something else is intrested in you. Of course, if it is him that wouldn't suprise me either, just 'communicating' is weird enough. And of course there is always the possibility that it was really just you, I think this may have inspired my first truely 'educational' post, something on dreaming would be good.

Alvie's taking me to see that next weekend. o.o
ReplyDeleteYou know, I've always wanted to do a research project on "gray" versus "grey." You know, like whether certain types of people favor one or the other, or whether one is older or more correct, or whether they mean different things... Some day. Not today though. :)

Om- I look forward to that post. I enjoy the way that I seem to be a source of inspiration for you hehe
ReplyDeleteAlso, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that the experience of communicating with Ritter is strange... I'm getting used to it though
Robin- I hope you enjoy it.
As for grey vs gray, I always figured it was a matter of UK/Canada vs US spelling, like colour vs color. I would guess the UK/Canada spelling is older, but neither is more correct. Languages tend to evolve. Spellings and meaning change. Also, it seems that the US spellings tend to be based more on phonetics. That's just my guess
Oh Robin! I just thought of something.. You should tell Alva that Paranormal Activity 3 is "proxy approved" see if she spends the whole thing taking notes or looking for hidden messages
ReplyDeletehehehehe
When I first saw the previews I almost thought it was an actual Hollwood Marble Hornets movie, I was actually disapointed when I discovered it was just another sequal to one of the best horror movies I'd ever seen. Then I decided it was good enough to get excited agian.

Ah heh... I guess I can see how you would think that at first. The Paranormal Activity movies are such rare gems in a sea of bland torture porn, badly written characters, tween fanservice and executive meddling. That's why I'd be wary of a Hollywood version of Marble Hornets. You'd need very specific people involved to pull it off well and to keep those problems from happening.
ReplyDeleteUgh and speaking of problems with horror today, I saw a trailer for the new Howling movie last night... It looks terrible. It looks like Twilight. The Howling was one of the best werewolf movies I've ever seen, so to see it turned into a Twilight clone was disheartening to say the least... Actually had a nightmare last night that they did another remake of Friday the 13th styled after Twilight *shudder*
Anyway, sorry for the rant. I just hate to see what's being done to the bulk of horror films today. Makes me appreciate the Paranormal Activity movies all the more.
You'll have to let me know what you thought of part 3 once you see it
Yeah, I thought that, but it seems like it's sort of fallen out of standard order, because I'm in America and plenty of people I know use one or the other, rather than just the one. Interesting how it sort of mixes with something like that, but with things like the color/colour and other o vs ou words, it remains divided.
ReplyDeleteProxy approved... ha, that's actually a great idea. I'll tell her you said that. At least I have this thread as proof of joking, though, because she might take it overboard and actually *find* "proof" or some such thing. Oh, Alva... Especially since she's been re-reading HoL lately. She does get into these things excessively.
Might make it a bit more amusing go for me, though, so I'll have at it. Thanks for the idea. ;P

The evolution of language like that has always fascinated me...
ReplyDeleteAnd you're welcome :)
Just let me know what happens if you do it heheh
That is a interesting dream.
ReplyDeleteMan, I miss having dreams.:(
Hey, I' ve watched Paranormal Activity and Paranormal Activity 2 yesturday!
I' m going to watch the third on Netflix from my xbox 360.
My cousin says it's going to suck.:/
Do you think Netflix has Marble Hornets? If not then I can watch the videos on YouTube.
Aw you don't remember your dreams?
ReplyDeleteI've had times like that
As I said, part 3 wasn't as good as the first two but I liked it.
I think you're going to have to stick to YouTube for Marble Hornets. As far as I know, Netflix doesn't carry it
I guess I can't remember them.
ReplyDelete*sad face*
I' ve always wanted to dream of Ritter. I tried to scare myself by watching a video from TribeTwelve on YouTube: INNTERUPTION. No such luck. If I see something really scary my head likes to send, repeat, and keep what I have saw. It's suppose to help me dream.
Knit- Lovely dream. I haven't been to a film in ages. I should probably go.
ReplyDeleteUntil Next Time.
Me.
While I don't have an extreme case of trisidecaphobia, I might as well even out your number of comments while I have something to say.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I love that the idea of a poor remake actually insipres more nughtmares than the remake itself, that comment made me smile. Yes a good horror movie needs anticipation and suspense, and a healthy does of mystery. Pain is not firghtening, it is only unformfortable, death is not scary, what is scary is the threat of these things, at any moment, yes, but not at every turn. But what is turely frightening is the unknown, we fear things we cannot understand, control, or perdict, and so many newer films fail to grasp that concept.
I also love the evolution of language, how it grows and adapts like a living organism, how versitial it can be. I have always wanted to learn all of the Romance languages, I even have some basic Spanish, but finding the motivation to take a Latin course is difficult when I'm not pre-med or pre-law and have so many other intrests. Part of me suspects that with all the interconnectivness in the world that within another couple thousand years we may have a truely global language, with no active manufacturing on our part, how I wish I could see that.
Oh, and butterfly, dreams are an extension of the physche, if you live to much of your subconious out in your head you may have no need to remember them. Though I suspect you don't really want to manufacture a dream with Him in it, don't worry, if He sends you one, you will remember.
See you around
-Cage
Bah, you stole my spot at the thirteen mark, Dead One, I truely do need to start making shorter comments.
ReplyDeleteSee you around
-Cage
Butterfly- As I keep saying, give it time. If Ritter decides to make his presence known to you, in dreams or otherwise, he'll do it in his own time
ReplyDeleteSunshine- Indeed it was and indeed you should. This is one of those movies where it's best to see it with a theatre audience too, just to hear the group reaction.
Om- Hehehe
And yes I too would love to look into the future to see in what ways the languages have evolved. As for a global language... I don't know... At one point in time I'm sure it was thought that Latin would be the global language, but things happened; societies crumbled or fell out of power and other languages formed or grew in popularity. I suspect that will always be the case unless people can create a global society with far greater stability than what we have now.
Haven't thought of learning Latin myself, but I have learned some old English which is fascinatingly close to German. I also know some French
....hey, Wolfie? I might actually be back this time. -grin-
ReplyDeleteVery happy to hear that Brightsky
ReplyDeleteTrue about Latin, but this is the first period of time in which our world has had such massive spread of information. It's certainly possible. That would be interesting... if everyone spoke the same language, then the new way to snub foreigners would rely much more on slang and code. I picture a Clockwork Orange type language response, perhaps? And if everyone became more fluent in code, poor proxies will have to start coming up with more and more esoteric ones... It may be hard to find a balance between unsolvable by the general public and unsolvable by all.
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone in your enjoyment of research of such things, Knit & Cage. :)
xo
BR
Hmm... that's a good point Robin...
ReplyDeleteAs for new slang, well I've heard people say things like lol and omg in conversation... Sort of abbreviated text speak so I don't think it's a stretch to think that the new slang would be more of that. Also, I notice that a lot of proxies seem to be moving away from the use of codes, or at least the numeric ones anyway. Personally, I only used numeric code once and I don't intend to again.
I'm always glad to hear that others enjoy the study of language as much as I do
